Nature and Floral Wall Art
When I step outside to photograph the world, I find myself drawn to the smallest of things: a flower blooming, water traveling over a rock, sunlight reflecting or dancing between trees. We live in a magical world filled with small miracles and I want to share it all with you.
You'll notice that most of my work is not a straightforward style of either photography or painting, but a meeting of the two in a dreamy, soft, comforting style with muted color themes. Sometimes, when Mother Nature wins, I will allow her vibrant, saturated colors to burst through.
I think of my artwork being akin to 'magical realism' in the literary world. Reality. With a dash of magic. You will see both the fine details of the photograph and the soft paint brush strokes and textures of oil paint in most of my pieces. The image to the left is a close up look at one dogwood bloom in one of my prints. I do have a few select photographs that I have used a watercolor technique as well, if you like brighter colors and a more "painterly" look.
Come take a walk with me in the woods. I'll show you delicate and interesting things.
